Consolata Cathedral Institute (CCI) was started in 1967 by the Archdiocese of Nyeri then called Cathedral Secretarial College (CASECO) to train secretaries alone. In 1995, a computer department was introduced which now allowed part-time students from the locality.
In 1998, the college opened to other courses which include Food and Bevarage, Clothing Technology and K.A.T.C intermediate besides the Secretarial course, all courses being at craft level. The institute was inspected by the Ministry of Education Science and Technology and subsequently approved to operate as a fully registered and recognized institute. Our registration number is:- MRT/PC/323/99.
In 2016, the college was registered with the Technical and Vocational Training Authority TVETA to offer both certificate and diploma courses:- TVETA/PRIVATE/TVC/0101/2016.
The name also changed from Cathedral Secretarial College to Consolata Cathedral Institute. The institute has boarding facilities for resident students. Currently we have a variety of students who are boarders, day Students and part-timers.
